Really interesting to see how climate risk considerations are becoming so important among investors worldwide. In the last two years, we at FP have also noticed that our client base is showing more and more interest in us addressing climate risks as part of our ESG due diligence services.
When US confectionary giant Mondelēz made a hostile takeover of Cadbury in 2010, it did no pre-acquisition diligence. This meant it missed corrupt practices in India, for which it ended up paying EUR 80 million in penalties. Our chart shows just how the corrupt practices were organised -- in a way that would have been discovered with proper due diligence.
Investors and consumers alike are placing increasing importance on businesses' Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) profile.
